South Devon Classics was born out of a lifetime passion with motorcycles & motorcycling by me, Steve Smith. I have ridden, raced, thrashed, crashed, repaired & restored motorcycles of all shapes & sizes for over 40 years. I relocated to South Devon from Bedfordshire in December 2016 & after meeting some like minded local enthusiasts, realised that there was a gap in the market for an affordable restoration & quality motorcycle routine maintenance service.
I am able to offer a wide range of services from a basic service to a full motorcycle restoration, including full engine rebuilds, single cylinder crankshaft rebuilds, wiring harness manufacture & a spoke wheel rebuilding service. All work is carried out in house with only with the exception of cylinder rebores & fork rechroming which are carried out by highly skilled specialist engineering partners.
Over the years, I have been involved in preparing motorcycles for both modern & classic circuit racing in many different classes. Recently i have been building bikes for the Thundersport 500 Series where my son Sam competes very successfully on a bike built & prepared by me & now since relocating, am venturing into Moto X, Enduro & Greenlaning motorcycle preparation & servicing.

We can collect & deliver motorcycles that you have either purchased or sold safely & securely in our specially equipped van throughout the U.K. & mainland Europe.

Track Day Services
If you are into circuit trackdays or off road Enduro/Moto X days, South Devon Classics can transport your bike & supply trackside support. With our racing background, we have all the essential equipment to make your day fun & stress free. All you have to do is ride!

Bodywork Repair & Painting
We are able to offer a paint & repair service for all motorcycle bodywork. From a full restoration repaint to accident repairs to fairings, fuel tanks & general bodywork through one of our local business partners in Brixham.

South Devon Classics are pleased to announce continuing sponsorship support to Ralph Croft who will be moving up to riding a Kawasaki 300 Ninja in the BEMSEE 300 Supersport Championship for 2023.

South Devon Classics are now pleased to be able to offer a Vapour Blasting Service which will further enhance our range of restoration services. For more details on this service please click on the drop down menu bar on the homepage.
South Devon Classics will be attending selected British Superbike events throughout 2023 supporting various teams & riders. Dates will be anounced early next year.
South Devon Classics will be again attending the Goodwood Revival Meeting in September 2023, preparing & running a long stroke 500cc Manx Norton & a Matchless G50 for the Barry Sheene Memorial Race. There will be more news on the rider line up nearer the event.
Here at South Devon Classics we can collect your motorcycle for service or repair & deliver it back to you for free within the Torbay area. Further distances will incur a charge to cover our fuel & vehicle running costs.
